Hey, what’s up? I’m Karl. I’ve been working professionally in the video production industry since 2010 (yeah, it’s been a while). Over my career, I went through a lot of struggles trying to find high-paying clients to make a living with video editing. It was my dream to do this for a living, but I was hardly making any money during the first eight years of my career. So I set out to figure out why, and it all came down to how I positioned myself online. It wasn’t about how good of a video creator I was—it was about how good other people thought I was, based on what I showed them.
Over the second half of my career, I invested tons of time (and money) into learning sales and marketing—specifically, learning how to find better, higher-paying video editing clients. These days, I still specialize in video editing, but I now consider myself a digital marketer as well. Over the years I created a bunch of tools and resources for myself as a video editor. Using all the knowledge I’ve gathered throughout my career on how to find higher-paying clients and how to sell them on my services. It’s easy to learn how to edit, but it’s not so easy to find high paying clients. And to do it consistently. But there’s a way, I promise you. And trust me, it’s not that complicated.
